Winter Series 2005 Race 7

Race No 7 Newborough Track 5km 12/05/2005

Unfortunately for some unexplained reason Hillingdon has been a no show with last Thursday nights event. I have sent our results of to them but have not heard back from them since. Last Thursday saw some great racing again especially between Steve Quirk,Darrel Cross and Brett Van Der Velden setting a cracking pace. Matthew Franke put in a great run with Bruce Salisbury, Jeff Van Der Brand and Richard Clavarino pushing each other all the way. Sam and Ben Quirk were outstanding with Shannon McCurley not far behind. The two biggest runs came from Steve McLeod and Shinichi Taniguchi breaking the 20min barrier. Derek Evans ran a much improved run and Duncan Orr, David Griffiths, Luke McKendry and Warren Harriss were also solid runs. Brad McAuliffe just finished in frontof the fast finishing Kim Essex and Nicole Morrison. Matthew McKendry is also improving well with Bob Bickett and Ian Heafield keeping each other honest and Carmel Quirk running better every week. Georgia Shaw, Ros Nicolson(Most Improved runner) and Pauline Lindsay all ran well. Mick Bridle nearly broke 25mins which is remarkable for one his age. Paula Lucas, Jackie Nelson, Anna Cardillo and Seona Conway have all made big improvements. Col Hardy and Belinda Issell made a solid return after long breaks with injury.
