Race No 5 Clubrooms Gilmour 5km Course 28/04/2005
Thursday night saw us experience our first real dark night. Cloudy skies and no moon, means real darkness at 6:00 P.M. Let hope we do not have too many of them and the winter passes us by quickly. Sam Quirk was the only runner to break his Handicap but they’re many great performances. Courtney French continues to perform well with father Dave not very far behind her in the early group. Ros Nicolson appears to have taken her running to a new level and we will watch with interest to see how much she can improve. Tanya Eagle continues to be consistent and Peter Grixti is starting show some old form. Roger Maximiw is consistently running the low 18’s now and is not far from going under 18 consistently. Jason Mulvogue has kept his form of breaking 20mins well and is only a matter of time before he goes under 19mins. Sam Frankland re handicapped two places after a big performance in the last Championship race still scored well last week in a new handicap bracket. Kim Essex scored well and is another female runner running close to 4:30 km pace consistently. Carmel Quirk is another who is heading in that direction also scoring well again. Ken Lancaster and Warren Harriss both scored well after being handicapped back a few places.
