Race No 2 Hobsons Park 6km Course 07/04/2005
Hobson’s Park 6km course again proved to be a fast course with 11 of the 42 runners breaking their handicap time. Ros Nicolson was the stand out performance running
29:51. On the 24/03 she ran 31:15 smashing her handicap target time of 34 minutes. Now she has smashed it again bringing her handicap time down by 5 minutes in two runs. Juniors Adam Conway and Courtney French led the field home with DerekEvans having an easy run before his weekend special Olympic championships. John Jervis being paced along by Ros also smashed his handicap with a fast run. Daryl Cross certainly blew everyone away with his run doing the impossible and smashing his handicap. Pauline Lindsay showed Pedro the way smashing her handicap by running 30 seconds faster than the other week. Brett Van Der Velden inchasing Daryl broke his handicap also. New runner Jackie Nelson also continues to improve breaking her handicap with only her second run with the club. Jason Mulvogue like Daryl isflyingand after waiting months to break 4min km pace he has done it twice in 2 weeks. A 40-second improvement on his run on the 24/03 saw him smash his handicap. Nothing much changes in Griffo’s life. He always turns up at the last minute then cruises effortlessly around the course and runs the same time week in week out. He ran 23:28 on the 24/03 and 23:28 last week. Lynda and Ross Jones continue to run well both breaking their handicap time. Old stagers Barry Higgins and Ian Heafield both ran well to break their handicap. New runners Elizabeth Hu and NatalieComber both put in great efforts to finish the 6km course with Shane Dwyer running an impressive 24:06 first up. Paula Lucas another new runner picked up 83 points and is also improving well.
