Race No 18 Old Traralgon East P.S. 5km Course 28/07/2005

41 runners and walkers took on last Thursday’s hilly tough 6km course. Early starter Karen O’Keefe led the field home. A dual club champion Karen is returning to form after a short injury break. She was second fastest feamle behind Sandra Timmer-Arends. Not far behind were three new runners Brent Davidson, Kay Leed and Leanne Keating. Leanne had a good result winning the female section of the Clubs Swaggy Wilson 12km Road Championship on Sunday. Consistent performers John Jervis, Pauline Lindsay, Anna Cardillo and Jacqui Nelson were next. Pauline has a stella year being one of the backbones of our female A.V. team and winning many veteran sections in local races. Anna Cardillo also has been supporting many of the local races and will improve quickly, as she becomes a more seasoned runner.

Fastest male was Darrel Cross followed by Dan Kirby and Kevin Piercy. Since making the Australian Triathlon team to compete in Hawaii in October Kevin’s running has taking a new level as he ups the training for this event. Chester Goulter is trying to gain some fitness for the City to Surf on Sunday 14 th August 2005 . Anyone wanting any information on this event should contact Chester who will be running his 32 nd City to Surf this year. Marissa Schill is making great progress since been able to compete Thursday nights. Marissa has been training with the harriers for over 12 months now and has only just been able to make Thursday nights. Marissa hopes to complete her first Marathon in Melbourne in October. Trevor Ronalds made a welcome return after a short break.
