It is very important for runners to start off their correct handicap times as it makes it difficult for the handicapper and recorder to decipher correct times. Based on the results of tonight’s run, Keith Tomholt has made a miraculous comeback since being injured for the past couple of months. He ran a course record in a time of 17.19, and has been dramatically handicapped. He won’t be rewarded for his efforts as it was not a Championship race. Second to Keith was Ian Duncan (22.29), followed by Neil Donoghue (24.04), Greg Semmler (19.09) and Sandra Timmer-Arends (21.11). A great effort from Ian Duncan, who made his debut in the King of the Mountain run last weekend. He obviously has prepared well and should record a good time at the Melbourne marathon.

Fastest runner was of course Keith Tomholt, followed by Greg Semmler, Nick Schilling (19.20) and Darell Cross (19.56). I think Shane Pettingill had place somewhere amongst these men, but his time was not recorded because he decided to take home his number (38). Sandra had an excellent race and recorded the fastest female time. Coming in second was Deb Piercy (22.16), followed closely by Leanne Keating (22.28) and Lauren Isles (22.49).
Some runners were taking it easier as they were freshening up for Tan Relays held on Saturday.
We welcome 2 new runners, Marnie Petersen and Bobby Pacunkis and hope they continue to run with the club. Just a gentle reminder that all runners MUST be registered with the club, otherwise you won’t be able to run and won’t be registered on the handicap sheet.
Walkers were: Carol Summersgill, Margaret Salisbury, Carmel Griffiths and Rebecca Robjant.
