Thu 4th Feb 2010 Chook Hill 6k
This week 69 Harriers turned out on a humid Thursday night to tackle the Chook Hill 6k run. Chook Hill is long and steep and challenging enough let alone the heat, humidity and 6 long kilometres.
Not so for Des Paynter (20:42), who ran the fastest time followed by Peter Evans (21:41), Greg Semmler (22:26), and Brett Van Der Velden (23:18). Greg has been doing a lot of training for the track season and it's paying off for him on the track as well as Thursday nights. Brett Van Der Velden has had more than his fair share of injuries so it's great to see him back running well.
Recording the fastest time among the women was Kathryn Ewels (24:08), followed by Melissa Jones (25:49), Anna Orr (26:35) and Leanne Keating (27:19). The women have been training hard for the track season also and getting great results. Leanne Keating has been triathlon training and though the multi sport training can slow down your running it's good that it's not so for Leanne.
As for the handicap race this week 100 points went to Lee Graham (30:51), 99 to Stacey Clark (34:58), 98 Matthew Mullens (26:19) and 97 Trevor Preston (31:39). Well done to you all.
This week saw the biggest number (5) of juniors we've have for awhile. Riley Evans (29:37), Mason Shields (34:11), Flynn Shields (35:38), Matt McLean (38:33) and Tara Evans (41:08). Well done to all of you also.

The next run will be on Thursday the 11th of February from the Clubrooms in Douglas Pde Traralgon followed on the 18th of February by the Morwell Golf Club run, the on the 25th of February Scales Rd off the Traralgon-Gormandale Road. All Welcome.
