Sam Quirk picks up his Under 14 Champion Athlete for 2006
Medal on Saturday at the Tan Relays.
Winners are Grinners the Under 18 Girls Lauren Isles, Courtney French and Charlotte McShane and their Bronze medals.
Sam Quirk has a big day at Tan Relays on Saturday 16th September 2006.
On a day when he received his Men’s Under 14 Winter Series Champion Athlete award Sam Quirk had another surprise up his sleeve. Leading our men’s division 2 team of in the relays Sam recorded the fastest time beating Steve for the first time by 1 second. The team was made up of Sam Quirk, Steve Quirk, Steven McShane, Frank McShane, Jason Mulvogue and Greg Semmler the efforts of these guys ensured our team finished 7th in the Men’s Division 2 section.
In the Men’s Division 4 we had to call on the help of Paula Lucas, Ros Nicolson and Ben Quirk to give the team some final points to also finish 7th for the season.
Under 18 girls Charlotte McShane, Lauren Isles and Courtney French wins bronze.
A great effort by these girls to win a medal as Lauren and Courtney are still under 16. Charlotte ran the outstanding time of 14:17 for a lap of the tan. Kathryn Ewels led the girls’ division team home to secure enough points from there 6th place finish to finish 3rd on the season premiership ladder. The team also consisted of Melissa Jones and Karen Ashton. The girl’s division 3 team of Kim Essex, Georgia Shaw and Carmel Quirk finished well to score enough points to finished 2nd on the season
premiership ladder. It has been a great season and a lot of fun with some great results and the lap of the Tan was a fun event to finish with. Our thanks to Margaret and Carol who marshalled for us and all the runners who made the effort on Saturday and also all season to make it a good season.
